The exhibition is located on the second floor of the west wing of the château and presents the oldest settlement of the region in two rooms, documented with archaeological finds, architectural gems in the field of preserved monuments and the beginnings of industry. The exhibition of flora and fauna from the Podblanicko Region is a great attraction for visitors young and old.

The exhibition links on from the ethnographical exhibition and presents a cross-section of the rich collections of the Museum of the Podblanicko Region. With more than 420 exhibits, the museum provides an insight into the variety of the everyday life of our ancestors. One interesting exhibit is the bar counter dating back to the end of the 19th century, which was saved from the now defunct pub in Růžkovy Lhotice by Čechtice. The exhibition was opened to the public in June 2001 on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the foundation of the Museum of the Podblanicko Region.

This exhibition was created in cooperation with Sellier a Bellot a.s. in Vlašim and the Military History Institute in Prague with the financial support of the Region of Central Bohemia. This contains exhibits of firearms with various levels of design of the firing mechanisms and decorative elements. Part of the exhibition is made up of ammunition, showing the variety of technological procedures used and materials used for the production of these. The exhibition is appropriately supplemented with trophies of exotic animals, of which the greatest attention is attracted by the bear.

An exhibition was opened to the public here in 1992 devoted to the history of the city and the surrounding area, artistic monuments in the region and the creative artists who worked here. A great deal of attention is drawn by ethnography, mainly presenting folk clothing and textiles, furniture, underpainting on glass and folk sculpture. The exhibition is located on the first floor of the building.

An exhibition was created in 2002 on the second floor of the building, which takes you into the world of the Benešov military regiment at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Interesting exhibits include period uniforms of our soldiers on the Italian, Russian and French front during World War One and the fate of rank and file soldiers during both world wars. The exhibition is supplemented by numerous medals and decorations, military cold weapons and firearms.

A permanent exhibition is housed in the château not far from Čechtice, devoted to the beginnings of Smetana’s work. It also commemorates other composers who were born in the region over the course of the centuries such as Jan Dismas Zelenka, Josef Leopold Dukát and Josef Suk. Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler and others also visited the region or worked here.
